While walking along the streets of Kiev not far from Hydro Park, come and see the park of miniatures. You will have a rare chance to see Kiev from a bird’s eye. There is no magic involved; you will get to see 50 small copies of the most famous attractions of Kiev.
There are a lot of parks like this one around the world, and the one in Kiev is in no way less amazing that the other ones. The idea of creating a park belonged to the Alexander and Natalya Menshikov in 2000, but due to the long and tiring process of getting city officials to approve the project took a long time. Only after the general board for foreign visitors service of Kiev city council had addressed the issue, the park was finally opened.
Miniature copies of buildings in a scale of 1:33 took miniature masters 4 years to complete. It is a quite daunting task, as all miniatures are kept outdoors all year long. Due to this fact materials for the miniatures were chosen especially carefully: they have been made out of modern synthetic material. Currently dozens of people are maintaining the state of the park.
At the moment there are 53 miniature copies, which include administrative buildings, churches, bridges and even Kiev railway station and “Borispol” airport. New items are constantly added to the exhibition. It is noteworthy that this tiny city is populated with about 700 citizens. These tine human figures ride cars, wait for their trains or planes, going for a walk: everything looks like real life.
No matter if you are young or grown up, the exhibition can amaze anyone. Both children and adults love to wander around the alleys of the park, which occupies 1,8 hectares. You can even take pictures with any miniature copy.
You will have to pay to enter the park, but there are discounts available for students, and retired people, children and other groups of citizens can enter for free.
